I made some effort to modify the sidebar and footer to something like nanyate or teddY’s blog, but lack of time and skill made it almost impossible for me to learn the “nip&tuck” by mylsef.

I think this css and php editing is not for me. So i will take the easiest way to instantly change the look of this blog by changing the theme with one that close to what i need.

What i need from a theme :

• look clean
• fast to load
• widgetized
• has footer that can easily be modify using widgets
• easy to monetized (i am thinking of 125×125)
• Most Important of all, it is FREE

Actually i have started trial and error with some themes on my old blog, since last week. I found these Themes as the nominee :

• “InBiz” as you can see at my old blog currently

I found out these sites below amuse me. They share themes which is beautiful and also simple but not tacky. Themes that also downloaded by many people.

• Smashingmagazine, themes link shared here are trully fantastic. A lot of option and seemed they already compile and select to share just top notch themes. They also took extra mile to categorize those themes according to their style. Here in 100 excelent Wordpress Themes, you can find themes divided into Vibrant themes, Simple and minimalistic, Magazine style, Calm and clean and much more styles.
• This themes i currently use, called iThemes. Originally made by www.ndesign-studio.com. But the one i used are already tuned to be three columns themes, rather that the original which has two colums. I downloaded from download it from mangoorange.com. iThemes is also recommended by smashingmagazine, categorized as Fresh, Clean and Elegant WP Themes.The reason why i liked this theme are because it fit my criterias, it is Clean, it is beautiful and additionally it has 3 columns, which means greater flexibility for me to arrange those widgets the way i wanted.
• Last link i think might interest you is 2400 WP Themes , zipped and shared by someone called xyberneticos. There is no information related to what WP themes included there, what version and whether those themes are able to function corretly, etc. I think not many people would download this bulky file, since wordpress official site offer better download function where you can view before downloading. In my oppinion, Xyberneticos might made the file not to be a popular download, he might made it somehow -with interesting tag like 2400 WP Theme- just to pull a lot of people to check it and it means traffic. I might going to use this kind of action to attract traffic to my blog next time

For the moment, i think iThemes is the best themes for my blog, it suit my criteria and… it is really cool!!

Actually I found much more links to other websites providing free downloads, but i don’t want to get lost again, i’ll learn slowly, view and try one by one, push my self to focus, close all unrelated information (other than what i’m currently focus on) and not making myself lost in the ‘jungle‘ again

Below are the most popular plugins according to the download counter and i conclude lot of people currently fell good and use it. If it’s good for most people, it might be good for me too, so i download-uploaded it and activate them all right away.

• Akismet, it’s function to filter and checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or no, but you have to register and get Wordpress API first before using it.

• Stats, great plugins from skeltoac, once it’s running it’ll begin collecting information about your pageviews, which posts and pages are the most popular, where my traffic is coming from, and what people click on when they leave. Why i like this, it’ll also add a link to your dashboard which allows me to see all my stats on a single page. This plugins function a bit like sitemeter (the one i installed this morning) with simple page less but effective information.

• Google-sitemap-generator, this plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update. I assume this plugins will be very usefull to make my blog easier to be found by search engine.

• All in one SEO pack, it can Optimizes your Wordpress blog for Search Engines. I assume this pluggins will work something like google sitemap generator in different way.

Why do i install those two last plugins, you might ask. Well, hey, who doesn’t want to be at google and yahoo’s first page, and the best is, it’s given for free Do i understand how to use it? Currrently trying my best to understand, lol…

Next time i’ll post more information about themes and plugins that i used and how it benefits me and it could probably benefit you too.
