Something I always Do Every Year Between Christmas and New Year

December 25th, 2009 · No Comments · Personal Ramblings

Hi,

I hope I am not too late to say: Have a great holiday to you and family!
I wish 2010 will be another great, prosperous and profitable year for
your online business.

I have something to share with you, actually it’s an activity that I
have been doing every year since I was in high school.
This activity has helped me to focus and achieve many goals for
the last few years.
You might want to consider to do it too if you want to get into 2010
with a Turbo Boost :)

Every year in the times like this, time between Christmas and New Year,
I always take times alone to reflect and review my 2009 goals.

I take a piece of paper, make a mindmap, mapping everything that
I remember about 2009.
My success, my failure, what I have accomplished, where I failed, etc.
I brain dump everything on a piece of paper, or two.

Next I take my agenda, write down and break down every things from
the the mindmap.
I write why I succeed, why I failed, how or what I can do to make it
better next time. I write everything as detail as possible.

The next step, I make another mindmap, set what my goals will
be for the coming year. What I want to accomplish and why.
I always write down every goals as detail as I could.

Next , I share these goals with my wife (I used to do that with my
girlfriend, which is NOW my wife LOL).
I tell her why I want to accomplish those goals and how I am going
to accomplish those goal, passionately!

Evaluating what I have accomplished for the previous year has always
gave me a great sense of accomplishment.
Kind of feeling that boost my confidence and give me a new spirit
to start the new year.

Sharing your goal with someone you care (and care for you), is great
a thing to do. It will keep you accountable to your goals.

The very last step is, I write down my goals for the new year and
keep it beside my working desk. Both at the office, and at home.
That way I will always reminded and motivated to pursue the goal.

It may sound simple, yet it’s powerful.
If you read time management books or ask any success coach
or motivation guru, I bet they’ll point out that one of the most
important thing to do to success is to set your goal and
define your plan how you’re going to reach the goal.

I am the last one you might want to ask about goal setting, LOL.
But one thing I can suggest to you is, always set your goal as high
as possible.
Write down your wildest dream, even it may sound impossible,
just write it down!
Don’t judge if you would be able to accomplish it or not.

Shoot for the star, it will still be a great accomplishment even
if you land on the moon :)

Okay, that’s all I can share for today.
Gotta back to my store, yep, the store open everyday, including
Christmas…

Thanks for reading, and once again, have a great holiday!

Warm Regards,

Hendra Rusly & Family
