Web 2.0 Style Badge
Have you ever found yourself admiring the trendy Web 2.0 Style Logo people use in their websites and you are wondering how expensive and how hard it might be to make one? You don’t even dare to ask your web designer how much it gonna cost to make one for your website.
Now, don’t just admire! Try make one for your self, it not as hard as you might think, and it won’t cost you a dime. You can start as soon as possible if you already had the necessary software installed in your computer.
I’d said it is so easy, the one you see up there made not more than 15 minutes.
My friend teddY who run a well designed blog, have given detail tutorial how to make Web 2.0 Style Badge for free. He use photoshop on his tutorial. I have seen some tutorial like this before, but none gave as much detail as much teddY.
Yea, it might not as good as teddY’s creation, but hey, its my first trial, give me a break please
If you don’t have photoshop, don’t worry, you can still use free license software which also has good quality. It is Gimp, and you can easily find tutorials too. Just google it using keyword “gimp web 2.0 badge” or whatever suit you, and you will find some in no time.

Thanks for the pluggie, I really appreciate it
anyway I like your self-made badge! I never thought of using other shapes besides the starburst one
you really think outside of the box, two thumbs up for that creativity
heh. Oh and thanks for the link to other tutorials! I heard that Gimp is a very good icon and button creator… maybe I should try to learn the ropes of it too!
P.S. I’m sorry if this question might sound embarrassing or offensive, but I don’t know whether I should link you by the name Henbima or Hendra…

Henbima reply on March 2, 2008:
Not a problem, you deserve the credit ted!
What i did just following your step by step tutorial, i used the round shapes because i am thinking to use it as logo and favicon for this blog.
Unfortunately i can’t show the favicon yet. Don’t really know where the problem is.
Hmmm, maybe you should make tutorial using gimp too? As gimp is free, many people might gonna look for the tutorial. Don’t worry, i’ll promote it if you have one later
Oh, don’t worry teD, you can use both henbima or Hendra. Here in my community people call me with six different names
Umm…. Maybe to make it match with my blog, you can use henbima, but any of those two would just be ok ;p
Thanks ted!
